Textbook Information
We will use two textbooks this semester: (1) Real Estate Law and Business – Brokering, Buying, Selling, and Financing Realty, George Lefcoe, Carolina Academic Press, 2016 (“Lefcoe”); and (2) Understanding Modern Real Estate Transactions, Alex M. Johnson, Jr., Carolina Academic Press, 2018 (“Johnson”).
General Assignment Information
Welcome to Real Estate Transactions I! Although our class will meet on Mondays and Wednesdays, I look forward to our first class on Tuesday, August 20 at 4:20 pm in Room 289.
To prepare for that first class, please read (i) pages 5-21 of the Lefcoe textbook (see below), (ii) pages 55-59 of the Johnson textbook, (iii) the Benya v. Gamble case, 282 S.C. 624, 321 S.E.2d 57 (Ct. App. 1984), and (iv) S.C. Code Section 32-3-10.
